Week 3 Post 3 03/18/18      Due to the fact that Tristan and I live really close we got together and did further research on target audiences. We found a very helpful slideshow online and it taught us many crucial factors about the importance of having a target audience. Not only should you decide on what target audience you want to have but you also have to cater to them. This information is extremely useful because we can use it as a guide throughout the film making process. The guide will help keep us on track, being used to prevent us from drifting away from the initial audience. This information will also generally help me with bettering future projects.

Week 3 Post 2 03/18/18       After getting together with the rest of the group members we began discussing further topics concerning our film. The main topic we went over was what our target audience would be. We want our film to mainly grasp the attention of those in their late teens early twenties. Our film is about a group of young teens who focus their passion of music into their careers and become successful. That being said we want to motivate teens and anyone who wants to make a life out of creating music. The music business is a risky career path but coming from someone who is truly passionate about music, being able to make a living out of it would be the dream. Everyone should do what makes them happy and we want that to be an important theme portrayed in our film.

Week 3 Post 1 03/15/18      Today in class we got with other groups and shared feedbacks to better our own projects. There was only one other person doing a short film in the group that I joined, his name was Christian. Since he was the only other making a short film me and him connected the most and gave each other feedback. He’s making a film based on an upcoming drug dealer trying to make a name for himself in the underground crime society of the suburban city called Weston. He read my whole script and was really interested in our idea. He thought the idea was original and unique and thought we could play it off quite nicely. He had two main pieces of criticism which I agreed with him completely. His first was cut the number of actors. There’s too many roadies and finding that many actors would be a hassle. His second criticism which I didn’t notice until he pointed it out was the script itself. The dialogue seems a little forced and it doesn’t flow as natural as it should be. Thi

Week 2 Post 3 03/11/18   I went over to Tristan's house this morning to check out his garage and what our work space would look like. While we were there we began to brainstorm ideas and visualize the film in our heads. We played the scene back and forth and even acted them out. Since it was just me and Tristan we didn't do any filming but we wanted to get an idea of how we would play out the scene. We started building the set by moving some things around and clearing some space. Unlike myself, Tristan doesn't have a car in his garage so he had plenty of space to build a set. I brought over my guitars and some of my amps. The set up is nice and we're excited to start filming.

Week 2 Post 2 03/11/18       My parents are out of town for two weeks so the members of the group and I decided this would be a good week to start getting some filming done. The first minute of the film is set in an auditorium. The second minute the setting changes to a group of teens in a garage. We were originally set on filming the garage seen at my house but upon further discussion we agreed that Tristan's garage would be better due to the space. A big reason for why we went the music route with our film was because I already own a lot of instruments and we could easily use them as props. The main thing i'm not looking forward to is hauling a full set of drums from my house to Tristan's, but we'll manage.

Week 2 Post 1 03/05/18      Today in class we went further into the script. Tristan was absent today so Homero, Alejandro, and I discussed the tweaks we could make to the script. Me and Homero ended up writing a new script which I will include down below. Personally I’m very fond of this script and I prefer it over the previous one made. A problem that Homero brought up and has a point with is that casting that many roadies to help with the shot would be too complicated. I told him why don’t we just cut down the amount of roadies to 2-3? He replied that it would play a large role in keeping the realism of the shot. I suggested my new idea where we basically keep everything the same but instead of there being roadies walking around all over the place the only people shown in the shot would be the band members relaxing in a lounge area waiting to be put on stage. Week 1 Post 3 03/04/18      After further discussing the script, we've decided to scratch the involvement of drugs and keep it more innocent due to the fact that we want our film to appeal to all audiences. Our first main conflict we were presented with was how we we're going to get an auditorium full of people so we could create the opening shot. I came up with the idea of having the camera stand behind the stage and band members facing the backs of the band members and the audience. While the camera captures this shot we get bright white lights to shoot from the audience facing the stage. Hopefully this will create an effect where all you can see is the light and and the backs of the band members. We can add sound effects of the crowd during the editing process and realistically create a full crowd. The camera angle would be like the one showed above except with bright lights shining towards us providing the effect wanted.

Week 1 Post 2 03/04/18      Homero had some spare time and decided to make a practice script. We all read it thoroughly and agreed that it's a good place to start. With time we'll add some tweaks here and there. Personally, my idea for the film was how a group of teens make it in the music businesses while keeping their purity and innocence. The part of the script that i'm not particularly fond of is when Anderson is seen jittery and going through some sort of drug withdrawal. Also in the script the only band member that is presented is Anderson when in reality there's multiple band members. Like I previously stated throughout the film making process we'll work together as a team to fix the imperfections and make the best final product possible.

Week 1 Post 1 03/01/18       Minutes into our first team meeting arguments begin to surface. There’s some tension between two members of the group but hopefully with the time this tension will be resolved. We get together as a group to go over our plot of our film and how we’re going to approach creating it. We all but one agree that making a storyboard for the film would be the best start. Homero disagrees and says he doesn’t like making story boards because it “restricts his creative process” and how he rather just film straight on set. While I begin working on the story board my team member Homero begins working on the script.       We discuss about how our original idea for the film was a plot about a group of young teens who rise up in their musical career and become successful. Homero presents a different idea. His idea was to change routes in the plot and create a thriller type film based on the concept of sleep paralysis.
